The interior of the living-dining room has become a subtle interpretation of the aesthetics of modernism in a modern interpretation
Architect Marcel Iskandarov refused to directly quote Soviet retro and relied on the atmosphere - warm, lively, filled with memories and at the same time absolutely relevant for a young family. The space was conceived as the real heart of the house: a place where it is equally comfortable to spend quiet evenings, receive guests, gather the whole family around a large table and simply enjoy the feeling of comfort.
To make the interior more free and airy, the designers completely revised the layout: they removed the partition between the room and the corridor, moved the passage from the kitchen and abandoned the extra entrance from the hallway. Thanks to this, the apartment received a smooth logic of movement and a feeling of a single, integral space.
The main emotional accent of the interior was the complex green shade of the walls. It envelops the space, creating a feeling of calm and security. Against this background, warm wood textures, orange accents and graphic details are especially striking. Color here does not exist on its own - it is constantly maintained in furniture, decor and architectural elements. The light part of the ceiling received a bright orange edging, which is then repeated in the chair, furniture fronts, decorative elements and textiles, uniting the interior into a single composition. Textiles have become an important part of the visual rhythm of the interior. Graphic elements and wide stripes in textiles support the aesthetics of modernism, but at the same time look very modern, creating a subtle play of contrasts and textures. This striped graphic continues in furniture. Thus, in the design of the TV stand we used Lamarty laminated chipboard in the decor "Phantom" - a complex gray shade with a warm beige undertone, which delicately integrated into the color palette of the interior. One of the drawer facades is made in a dark gray shade “Graphite”, thanks to which the furniture seems to echo the graphic design of textiles.
The details in this project work especially finely. Pillows on the sofa support the color palette, a throw adds tactility, and the window sill turns into a cozy place to relax thanks to a soft cushion. Family photographs in thin black frames appear on the walls, compositions made of glass and ceramics appear on the table, and graphic branches and objects for an intimate evening appear on the nightstand. Live citrus fruits, a tangerine candle, a fluffy bouquet, a commemorative cup and even a sketch of a room on the window create the feeling of a real lived-in home, in which the interior becomes not just a beautiful picture, but a continuation of the character of its owners.
